Russel and Nadia's Saskatchewan Park Proposal
This one was something special.
I woke up long before sunrise and made the quiet drive out to Douglas Provincial Park. The plan: hike out to the sand dunes and wait in position for Russel’s proposal. I had scouted the location for him a week earlier — a tucked-away spot with soft rolling sand and a view that catches the early light just right.
When I parked, there was still a chill in the mid-summer air. Coyotes howled faintly in the distance, and birds were just starting to stir. I made my way to the spot and set up, posing as a landscape photographer.
Then came the moment.
The sun rose, casting that warm glow that only seems to last a few minutes — and Russel asked Nadia to marry him. It brought tears to my eyes. The whole thing felt cinematic. Honest. Quiet. Beautiful.
Afterward, we celebrated together, taking photos along the trail as we made our way back out. The light stayed kind to us, and the joy never really left our faces.
